Who these terms are between
These terms apply when you hire me, Hamza Iqbal, a freelance WordPress developer, for a project through this website, by email or by WhatsApp. Projects run through Upwork follow Upwork's own terms and payment protection; where those differ from these, Upwork's terms apply.
Quotes and scope
- Before work starts I send a quote that describes the work, the price and the expected timeline.
- Work outside that scope is quoted separately before I do it, so there are no surprise charges.
- Timelines depend on receiving content, design files and access on time. If they arrive late, the timeline moves accordingly.
Payment
- Payment terms (for example a deposit and the balance on completion, or milestones) are set out in the quote.
- Third-party costs such as premium themes, plugins, hosting and domains are paid by you or billed to you at cost, and are not part of my fee unless the quote says so.
Your part
- Provide the content, brand assets, design files and the access I need (hosting, WordPress admin, domain or DNS) in good time.
- Make sure you have the right to use any text, images, fonts or files you give me.
- Review the work when I share it and send feedback in one consolidated round where possible.
Revisions
The number of revision rounds is set in the quote. Changes that go beyond the agreed scope are treated as new work and quoted first.
If you are not happy
If you are not happy with the work I deliver, tell me within 14 days of delivery. I will first work with you to put it right. If you are still not satisfied, I will refund what you paid me for that work. Refunds do not cover third-party costs (themes, plugins, hosting, domains) or work you have already accepted and put into use.
Ownership
- Once the project is paid in full, you own the website and the custom work I created for it.
- Themes, plugins and other third-party items remain under their own licences.
- I may show the finished project in my portfolio and case studies unless you ask me not to.
Confidentiality
I keep your logins, files and business information private and use them only for your project. I recommend changing passwords after handover.
Support after launch
Any support or maintenance period after launch is described in the quote. Later changes, updates and fixes are available as new work.
Limits
- I build and test carefully, but I cannot guarantee search rankings, traffic or sales, or the behaviour of third-party services, hosts and plugins.
- My total liability for any project is limited to the amount you paid me for that project.
Ending a project
Either of us can end a project in writing. You pay for the work done up to that point, and I hand over everything completed so far.
